"Poolside Service" Redefined

(Reposted from Valley JH BUMP 2011 Facebook group page; written by Corey Carey)

Wow. Yesterday was one of the most powerful "mission trip" days I have ever experienced. We got to experience a "poverty simulation" exercise and ask questions of people who live in these type of circumstances, we got to do some home visits with Living Hope ministries and the students had the opportunity to speak and pray with some people living in serious poverty, then we hit the local wading pools in the parks again. EVERY SINGLE one of our students shared the gospel to a kid at the pool! SO proud of all of them. Some of them used the "good news band" and some used the evangecube. The kids that Zach Stuhr and Catherine Gardino shared with accepted Christ and will join us at Vacation Bible School today! Praise God! We were all blown away last night as we shared about what God did yesterday! Every one of your students had a story about what happened when they took that step of faith and shared the gospel. Really excited to see what He has for us today!
It is a LOT cooler today. The high is supposed to be 88 and our rooms are nice and cool. The guys in my room had to actually get under their blankets last night! Praise God for that. We are spending this morning at the Mall of America, and tonight we are starting a two day version of VBS. (Shortened due to the heat)
Please pray that the work the Lord started in those two kids hearts would continue today and that more would see Him due to the Faith of your students!

Morale is great and we really have come together as a team! Keep praying!
