Day 1 Riverside EFC

Well today we got off to an interesting start.  Satan did not want to let any traction happen on advancing the Gospel.  Copier failure, printer ink cartridges running out of ink, conflicting times for the start and a power outage for our block only all added to the day - that coupled with a team of helpers who suffered through very draining heat while canvasing the neighborhood.   The electricity was working across both streets from where the church is located, but the one block was out for about 30-40 minutes.
But in the end, 12 kids signed up and we were told of a number of others coming tomorrow.  The kids heard a great lesson today from Kaitlyn Schwenk and the drama team of Abby, Chris, Cory and Jack emphasized the message through their skit.  Jenna and her team were ready with the crafts which the kids loved and we let them spend more time in there.

The kids loved the games with the highlight being freeze tag with a water bottle.  The kids really loved running around squirting others and the leaders loved being squirted as the water was refreshing, even if it was just a little.  Katie J, Abby, Sarah and Erin all helped out with that and others chipped in too.

I think all the main kinks were ironed out today and we should be ready for a more significant turnout tomorrow.  Please continue to pray for our team and all the sites teams as they are all serving faithfully.

I am blessed with a great team and leaders who are doing a fantastic job with the kids.  We have had a couple minor health issues, (Nasal and dehydration) but both are doing better now.  Thanks for your prayers, we will continue to need them throughout the week.
